The European Epilepsy Brain Bank was founded in 2006 under the direction of the sixth framework program of the European Union (EpiCure, grant agreement #37315) to develop a European research network and support innovative studies on well-characterized human epilepsy surgery specimens. It was designed as a virtual database collecting a minimal data set of de-identified clinico-pathological information. The European Epilepsy Brain Bank also became a biorepository for the current FP7 “DESIRE” consortium (grant agreement #602531). 36 Epilepsy centers across 12 European countries are currently registered.
If your center is interested to contribute, please send an informal application letter with a bioscatch and brief description of your centers portfolio in epilepsy surgery to Ingmar Blümcke, MD or Roberto Spreafico, MD
