Prof. Rolf Schröder receives new DFG funding (SCHR 562/16-1)

A new joint research project of the Institute of Neuropathology and Biochemistry will start January 1st, 2019 to understand structure and function of neuromuscular junctions in diseased skeletal muscle

A joint research project by Prof. Dr. Rolf Schröder (Institute of Neuropathology) and Prof. Dr. Said Hashemolhosseini (Institute of Biochemistry, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg) recently recieved funding by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project is entited "Neuromuscular endplate pathology in autosomal dominant and recessive desminopathies" and will tackle the question how the expression of mutant desmin affects the structure and function of neuromuscular junctions in diseased skeletal muscle tissue. The project is funded for 3 years and will start in January 2019.
